The PowerEdge R740 is designed to accelerate application performance by taking advantage of accelerator cards and storage scalability. The 2-socket, 2U platform has the ideal balance of resources to power the most demanding environments. The R740 supports up to two Intel Xeon Scalable processors, each supporting up to 28 cores per processor. The R740 has 24 DDR4 memory slots, 12x per processor, allowing for a maximum of 3 TB of RAM. The R740 offers a variety of storage options, including up to 16x 2.5“ or 8x 3.5” SAS/SATA (HDD/SSD) or NVMe PCIe SSDs.
